PRF for Extractions and Implants

PRF for Extractions and Implants

Supporting Natural Healing with Your Body’s Own Wisdom

At Smart Dentistry, we believe that true dental care is not only about the procedure itself, but also about how the body is supported afterward. Healing matters. Tissue health matters. The quality of recovery matters.

That is why we incorporate PRF, or Platelet Rich Fibrin, into certain procedures such as extractions and dental implants.

PRF is one of the most beautiful examples of how modern dentistry can work in harmony with the body’s own natural intelligence. Rather than introducing something foreign, PRF allows us to use a concentrated portion of your body’s own healing elements to support recovery in a more biologically respectful way.

What Is PRF?

PRF stands for Platelet Rich Fibrin. It is created from a small sample of your own blood, which is carefully processed to concentrate powerful healing components already present within your body.

This concentrated fibrin matrix contains platelets and growth factors that can be placed directly in the area being treated. In essence, PRF helps us deliver your body’s own healing potential exactly where it is needed most.

Because PRF comes from you, it is natural, biocompatible, and fully aligned with a holistic philosophy of care.

Why We Use PRF

In holistic and biological dentistry, we are always thinking beyond the immediate procedure. We look closely at what supports the body, what respects its design, and what may contribute to a healthier healing environment.

When a tooth is extracted or an implant is placed, the body begins a highly important repair process. The health of the surrounding tissue and the way the area heals can influence comfort, recovery, and long term stability.

We use PRF because it allows us to support that process in a way that is natural and intentionally centered on the body’s own regenerative abilities.

PRF for Extractions

When a tooth is removed, the body must begin rebuilding and repairing the area. This early healing phase is incredibly important.

By placing PRF into the extraction site, we help support a more favorable environment for healing. Because PRF contains the body’s own concentrated healing factors, it can assist the site as it begins the natural process of tissue repair.

For patients, this often means an approach to extraction care that feels more thoughtful, more biologically supportive, and more in tune with whole body wellness.

PRF is used in extraction sites to help support:

  • natural tissue healing
  • protection and stabilization of the area
  • a healthier healing environment
  • the body’s normal regenerative response
  • more intentional support during recovery

In a holistic practice, an extraction is never viewed as just a removal. It is also the beginning of healing, and that healing deserves care and attention.

PRF for Dental Implants

Dental implants require more than simply placing an implant into the bone. They require careful planning, healthy surrounding tissue, and a strong healing response from the body.

This is one reason PRF can be such a valuable part of implant care.

When used during implant treatment, PRF helps support the healing of the tissues around the surgical area and encourages a more biologically supportive foundation during recovery. Since implant success depends in part on how well the body responds and heals, we believe it is important to use tools that honor and assist that process whenever possible.

For implant procedures, PRF may help support:

  • healthy tissue response
  • natural healing around the surgical site
  • a more supportive healing environment
  • comfort and recovery after treatment
  • overall biological harmony during the healing phase

Using PRF during implant care reflects our philosophy that successful dentistry should work with the body, not against it.

The Holistic Value of PRF

What makes PRF especially meaningful in our practice is that it is deeply consistent with the principles of holistic dentistry.

PRF is derived from your own body. It is not synthetic. It is not artificial. It is not a foreign material. It is a natural way of supporting healing by concentrating the restorative elements your body already creates on its own.

This is one of the reasons so many patients seeking more natural and biologically conscious care appreciate PRF. It offers a way to support recovery using something that is inherently yours.

For us, that matters.

We believe that when possible, treatment should respect the body’s design, support its innate processes, and create conditions that encourage more balanced healing. PRF fits beautifully within that vision.

What Patients Can Expect

If PRF is recommended as part of your extraction or implant procedure, a small sample of blood is drawn at your appointment. That sample is then processed in office so the concentrated healing material can be prepared and used during treatment.

The process is simple and performed as part of your care here in our office.

For many patients, knowing that their own natural healing factors are being used as part of treatment provides an added sense of comfort and confidence.

A More Intentional Approach to Healing

At Smart Dentistry, we do not believe in rushing through care or viewing treatment in isolation. We believe in looking at the bigger picture the procedure, the healing, the tissues, the biology, and the person connected to it all.

PRF is one of the ways we bring that philosophy to life.

By using your body’s own healing potential during extractions and implants, we are able to support recovery in a way that is gentle, biologically respectful, and aligned with the deeper principles of holistic dental care.

Because healing should never be an afterthought. It should be part of the plan from the very beginning.

If you would like to learn more about whether PRF may be included in your treatment, our team would be honored to guide you.

Why Patients Appreciate PRF at Smart Dentistry

Patients often appreciate PRF because it reflects a more natural, elevated, and thoughtful approach to care. It allows healing support to come from within the body itself, while also complementing the precision and intention of modern surgical treatment.

For patients seeking dentistry that feels more aligned with overall wellness, PRF is one more way we help bridge advanced care with biological respect.

Polishing

After your teeth have been given a fresh clean, the dentist will use an abrasive substance that further removes plaque, while also removing minor surface stains for a completely fresh look.

It is very hard to achieve excellent teeth without visiting us at least twice a year for a routine dental cleaning and a yearly dental exam. This is because traditional brushing methods are unable to remove tartar, though plaque prevention is still possible.
